Toyo Observe Garit KX!! Posted by B Millar [Email] (#1109) [Profile/Gallery] (more from B Millar) on Sun, 10 Jan 2010 09:30:09 In Reply to: Snow tire wear & questions, Jason, Sun, 10 Jan 2010 07:59:46 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Whether you get two of four I would whole-heartedly recommend Toyo Observe Garit KX snow tires. I'm not sure how they compare price-wise with others. I got a killer deal on a set of "take-off's" that some doofball had mounted to his BMW for a week and no surprise... it still sucked in the snow. These things rock on the 9-5 though. When I put them on in November they were a little wishy-washy but now that it's cold out they're nice and firm and the car handles great in dry, light/deep snow, sheer ice. Wet traction could maybe be better but they're still fine. Last winter CT had a freezing rain storm. I almost killed myself walking 20 ft to my car. My car zoomed right up my driveway (slight incline) with no wheel spin. My mom spent 45 minutes trying to get out that morning, sliding back down sideways a couple times on the black ice. Toyo advertises that these tires have "Microbit" technology; walnut shell particles in the tread for traction on ice. They seem to be wearing very little too. I'm not sure why more people don't have them.
