Larry,
We have the hood protector installed on our 2004 9-5 Aero, and this accessory does a teriffic job of preventing rock chips on the hood of the car. Some aluminum bits and pieces come with the hood protector that mount into existing holes on the underside of the hood and they then have a machine screw which protrudes downward. The hood protector has two predrilled holes in it that go over the two machine screw and a circular nut is then fastened over the screws (would suggest using some blue Loctite on the screw threads to insure that the nuts stay in place. Then there are about 6 circular silicone "bumpers" that mount to the top side of the hood (self adhesive)that prevent the hood protector from directly contacting the paint on the hood. Overall a very slick installation which has been on our car for 6 years now, with no paint chips, without any issues.
