I need a help deciding what to replace to cure my intermitten No start on my 00 2.3 lpt.
FPR?, Check valve?, or CPS?
It cranks strong, but no catch even with prime.
If I prime about 10 times or so, it usually start.
But, last Saturday night, it completely shut down on me after the dinner with my family.
Tried to prime and start for about 90 min, then I called Taxi and took my family to home, leaving our 9-5 behined.
Next day, I got my pressure gauge in my belt, hook it up to fuel rail with a little bit of fuel squart from it.
0 psi with prime, but fuel pump sounds like normal, No start of course.
About sixth try of priming, the gauge poped up to 42psi like sticking valve got open, and clean start.
Gauge showed good 37 psi at idle and dip to 35 psi when rev up, then back to 37psi.
Turned key off, it went down to 35 psi and kept till I came back from lunch.
I drove back to home, and hooked gauge back to fuel rail, and left it over night, and it went 35 psi last night to 0 psi this morning.
I did not have a time to try priming it this morning to get a ride from my wife's 04 9-3.
Your inputs are greatly appriciated!
