I have owned Saab and Audi's all my life, going back to the old 80's 900's and 5000's, then 2 9-3's a 9000 Aero and 2 9-5's one Aero and one SE, and several A6's,and 1 A4. I worked for 9yrs at a Saab dealer and fell in love with them, but after my last 9-5 Aero, I will likely never buy another Saab 9-5, Possibly I may get a 2000-2002 9-3 conv, as a play toy. for me the Saab is way to much GM though, they took away their heritage and made everything cheap. Now let me explain myself, I refuse to own a car that I can not work on, but I also don't want to work on it every day. I loved my 2001 9-5 Aero, it was probably my all time favorite car to drive, but as days go on it is dropping down the list of favorite cars to own. I just had so many stupid issues that were just unacceptable which drove me back to get another Audi A6 back in December, I practically gave away my Aero. with Audi I have Vag-Com so I can do everything the dealer can do!!! I have not yet found anything in the Audi I can not easily take apart, the Timing belt is such a easy job on the V6, the 4cyl isn't too bad either. my Aero was a faster car (until is snows)and the Saab does get better gas mileage, but the A6 is a heck of a car for the DIY person. As a hobby I fix VW and Audi some for friends sometimes I buy them cheap fix and sell so I see a few of them every year, and now the more I see the further and further I get from Saab.
