My thoughts as a previous owner of a 2001 Posted by rpm2 [Email] (#259) [Profile/Gallery] (more from rpm2) on Tue, 11 May 2010 18:17:00 In Reply to: GM influence on a 2006 9-5 and some fun myths, Herb Hirsch [Profile/Gallery] , Tue, 11 May 2010 16:56:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We replaced our 2001 9-5 SC SE V6 with a 2006 9-5 SC Aero. Yes there is most definitely GM influence. I got use to it.
Heater and radio controls. I think these are better than our 2001. CD holds 6 CDS. I love XM Radio if you're willing to pay for it. Heating and cooling is the same.
Seats. Fantastic especially the comfort. Driving position is perfect with the power seats. We've never use the memory seats.
Automatic Transmission. The manual and power mode are great. The Aero is pretty fast with 260HP.
Fit and Feel. A little cheaper than the 2001. I think the interior is cheaper. Exterior is the same though. For me there's still enough SAAB in the car to satisfy me.
Look. This is subjective. A lot of comments will be negative with the front end style and the GM dash. I kind of like my car in Silver. The wheels are fantastic. Also the lowered suspension on the Aero is nice.
Quality. Interior noise is worst than our other car. My wife blames it on the hard Aero suspension. I kind of agree.
For the price we paid last fall (dirt cheap) and the fact we have warranty until October, this car is great. I'm personally looking forward to keeping it and waiting for the new 9-3 SC to arrive in 2012. The NG9-5 is too large for me.
Oh anything that goes wrong is GM's fault. Otherwise SAAB built a fantastic car.
