My dealer removed the baffle without dropping the tank (SW, though). Comes out through the access port where the fuel pump is. Make sure the fuel tank is lower than 1/4 full before doing this (unless you really like the smell of gasoline inside the car). Until you can get it out, set the trip odometer at every fill-up and don't go much more than 400 miles (for instance).
With no baffle, you'll be startled by the "woomp" sound of fuel sloshing to the front of the tank on stops, but you'll get used to it.
