I was afraid you were going to say that it all had to come off. I did it when I had to pull the heads off, I just was not looking forward to doing it again.
It has run hot intermittantly. After I put in the new rad I left it running to work out the air in the system, and it seemed to stabiize around 90 C, so I figured it was running fine. Occasionaly the temp gauge was running low, but the upper rad hose was at the right temp, so I assumed everything was fine.
This is my partners car, I drive Jags. It just strikes me as odd that a Jaguar V12 is much easier to work on than the V6. Thank goodness it has timing chains.
