Yes, different goggles, indeed. I view poorly built engines sold to folks who rely on saab's reputation for longevity very dispicable! And very disappointing. And I'm NOT, repeat NOT, attacking anyone on this BB board nor am I upset with Saab as it were. However, with the utmost respect, I strongly urge all GM lovers to move over to the performance BB and simply ask folks about what it was like to have their engine explode in the middle of an on-ramp to the highway and what it cost 9-5 Aero and Viggen owners to fix/install a new engine, how much did GM pay, was it under warranty, what was the customer's out-of-pocket expense? I'm still in debt from purchasing my 9-5 Aero and can't afford to put a new engine in it. Read the articles in "State of Nines" and search the performance BB here on saabnet about catastrophic engine failures and GM's silly mistakes in setting up the framework for engines to explode. GM was forced to eventually fix under complete warranty all exploded engines due to the fact that it was such a common problem, doesn't that tell you something? Why not support the consumer while we're in a depression? And not the big multi-billion auto-corporations? Sorry, but we're not all rich and can't throw $5000 plus at a new replacement engine. I keep trying to sell my 9-5 Aero but NOBODY will even look at it unless I sell for half KBB price. I'm stuck with a time bomb and can't wait to find a reliable car again. Maybe an Audi? I don't know what problems they have, but as long as the engine doesn't explode due to sludging and the transmission is strong, I can do regular maintenance just fine on a car I can trust to perform. Again noooooo disrespect to 9-5 BB posters at all! I love Saabs, love my 9-5 Aero (if it wasn't for the major engine problems) and hope the European Spyker Corp. can pull what's left of saab out of the gutter that GM threw it into.
