This might be an easy answer, but I have not had to deal with this before. I have replaced the head bolts and per procedure torqued them down. It "seems" to have fixed the over pressure, but have not taken it on a long drive yet. I have pushed it pretty good though with no extra pressure in the cooling system and have added a cooling system leak fixer....We will see. I do have a simple question.
Will the oil foam even if there is some anti freeze from before in the oil? I am getting some foaming, but not much. Or will the oil only foam if there is new antifreeze in the oil. Yes, I just need to change the oil to find out, but wanted to ask the question anyway before hand.....
Responding to the Thermo Statement, the cooling system was losing a bit of antifreeze even with the "return after cap off" symptom even with a little bit of oil foaming (which I may not have mentioned). You reasoning is that if the thermo is stuck open the water will heat up too much and will have to much pressure in the system? If so the temp reading on the dash should also go high (which it is not). Is this the logic?
Thanks for the responses.....
