See if you can get a copy of the Saab Iris report on the car. It will show whether oil changes were done at recommended intervals, whether the 60K service was done, etc. A friendly Saab service writer can run the report for you (no one ever charged me for one...) and it can give you a better understanding of the vehicle's history. A CarFax report is also good to see, but not infallible by a long shot.
The Iris will only show post-warranty work if that work happened to be done at a Saab dealer.
Is this a one-owner Saab?
I have a 2001 9-5 Aero, bought as a CPO with 27K many years ago. It has been a fairly trouble-free Saab, but has needed a DIC (CPO warranty), a water pump, and a bunch of routine stuff over the years.
