Those big 3 define your car's ability in the snow, not some Swedish pixie dust (disclaimer, I don't know that they have pixies in Sweden).
If the c900 does "better" in acceleration, with same tires and TCS (disclaimer again, I don't even know if they had it then), it must have less even weight distribution (i.e., "heavier" front end), not a good feature when cornering in the snow.
Certainly, the better a car handles on dry pavement, the better it will do in snow, but these arguments about how a particular car is good in snow, well, it's primarily TIRES, TIRES, TIRES!
Regarding ESP, I had that on my 2002 Aero SW, and was impressed when I played around some that first winter in a snowy parking lot.
What I consider the best feature for SAAB's (any of them) in snow...if you get in a crash.

2007 9-5 Aero SC [60th], with new Nokian WR2 for winter
2004 9-3 Aero SS, with Blizzaks for winter (car came with them, this will be the first winter we've had the car)
