There is a plate on the front of the car with the hood open on the drivers side just above the wheel. It will have stamped a bunch of letters. These letters decode to the front and back suspension like BA or whatever. These codes appear on the eeuroparts web site and along with the color coded strips they should match. But some springs are hard to get even from SAAB, note 2001 Aero Sedan Back Springs, so I substituted Aero Sedan Back Springs from another year. There are a TON of different combinations of springs / part numbers / substituted part numbers / changed part numbers, etc.
Also keep in mind on 2001 models, they changed the front struts in mid year. Slight change in the front hub bolt locations. Don't get bit by that if you are doing the fronts.
I agree that the new springs may not last long, but so far have held in the cars that I have done with lifts. But this has been < year for most of them.
