As mentioned earlier, tires make a huge difference. When the time comes, be very selective looking for a lower resistance as well as more turns per mile (the engine is owrking less to propel you more). Tire Rack has these calculations.
While I love the Aero wheels, when the time comes, would you consider changing to the stock 16" tire/wheel combo? That may help, too. Otherwise, keep everything in tip top shape.
You know, a new 9-5 with a stick is rated at some insane number (for a large car) like 33 or so...
