Just addressed this issue in my 2000 Aero. Both rear springs were completely useless - 1/2" low in free height and the car sat 1.5" too low. Shocks were fine. Perhaps Anders can help out here but measure the height from the bottom of the fender opening to the bottom of the rim of the wheel. That should be 618mm for the Aero (full tank - no weight in the car). Seems to be plus or minus about 20mm. WIS has a chart to figure toe-in and camber for the various heights. Shims may help if they can't meet spec but the range there is pretty small. Springs seem to be the big problem.
Regarding the 'bounce' test: both front shocks on my car seemed fine but one collapsed on its own once disassembled. I thought it was a bad rear shock given some of the info I read on the websites.
I did some posting on this problem on the board just a couple of minutes ago...
