Took me 2 hours and I absolutely hated it. It would have been quicker, but I had trouble getting the valve seated back on the bracket, and ultimately I gave up. Also cutting that zip tie without a good wire cutter took me forever. There is almost no room to maneuver in there.
To anyone reading this in the future, I bought the part from a Cadillac dealer because it was also used in the 2001 Catera. Its GM part number 90566947, AC Delco part # 15-50574. Both GM and ACDelco labels on the package, and its made in Germany. I paid $114 with tax, but Advance Auto Parts would have sold it for $80 if they had it in stock. There's a different part available on many websites. If you order it online, buy some vacuum hoses and replace them while you're in there.
The hose clamp pliers with cable extension made this job possible. Without them I would have given up. Its actually pretty easy to get the hoses off/on.
I just finished, after filling coolant to the cold line and running the car, I got a low coolant warning again, but theres no leaking. I figure its just settling.
Big thanks to BMiller for this writeup:
