rear suspension Posted by cork [Email] (#716) [Profile/Gallery] (more from cork) on Thu, 19 May 2011 15:31:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It seems May is the month for this topic and the '02 Aero wagon. Perhaps it's because, here in the frozen north, it is the month when one notices that the just-mounted summer tires sound louder than the snows swapped out that morning.
I've just had a four-wheel alignment done, and the front end is great. However, the rear's negative camber problem has just eaten a fairly new pair of Continental Extreme Contacts...maybe tired springs...maybe, well, I've read the BB and the list does go on.
So, here are my questions:
1) How could I tell if the springs are the culprit?
2) What is the incremental cost of doing the whole rear end, once I've already started in with the springs?
3) What is the likelihood that I'll have to do the whole thing in the foreseealbe future anyway (the car is at 100K)? and
4) If I do all this on the rear end, is it necessary to address the front end at the same time?
You can see my problem(s).
Many thanks for any and all thoughts.
