I had the alarm issue on my V6 SE 2001. So I had the dealer turn that function off. Use the key and it sounds the horn when locking and unlocking. It's been fine for 2 years! Then about 2 weeks ago the alarm just starts going off all by itself. I drove it around a bit and re-parked it and it has been fine for the last 2 weeks. Thought it was just some strange elec. glitch. But tonight it starts going off again. Goes off for 10 seconds or so, then goes off for 15 or so and starts again. When I start it no message on the SID, but it was still going on and off as I was driving around.
So I got under the hood and pulled out the AC/Siren fuse. It was still going off but less noisy. About 30 seconds later, it was quiet and has been so for awhile. What in the world is going on? Advice?
Would it be best to simply disconnect the module under the wheel well? The AC is NOT a big issue since we're mid_October, but still need to fix this thing. Thanks in advance!!
