Thanks for the clarification. I had my local guy pull back the fender well and take the alarm off. What's interesting is that my alarm has NO SCREWS to open the case. It is stamped with a white serial number that says "1001". Made by Lucas as well (!).
Anyway, I guess it can be sent off for repair if I choose to.
Since I had TEch II disable the alarm 2 years ago it is worth noting that you don't get a warning on the SID when starting the car. They key functions--opens, locks doors with car horn. All is good again.
