Aerosol cans are great for applying lubes when you've got a clear shot at your target, or you're not too worried about overspray. The syringe is a little more accurate. Those little red wands that you stick into the nozzle on the can work OK too. I once worked on the PCV system of a VW GTI VR6 and had three or four of those wands spliced together with really small ID hose. I had to get some really powerful solvent into an orifice in the intake that I could feel but not see.
I'd bet a little bit of water resistant grease would work well on the red lock ramps on typical Saab connectors once you get them apart. Sort of like anti-seize on a fastener. I'll do that when I install the new CPS.
