Derik: bottom line, have it checked out by someone who knows what's going on this car.
If everything checks out to your satisfaction, and it's a car your like, offer him book value. Don't pay more, it's worth what it's worth. Don't make it an emotional thing. Hit KBB and your insurance agent should have a value for it too.

If seller doesn't want to sell for that, walk away, there are plenty of Aero's out there. I wouldn't be afraid of the mileage as long as regular, verifiable service was done in a timely fashion, PVC 6 was done.

This forum is a great place for info, you get passionate people giving advice about their cars.

One piece of advice, one that would be good for anyone your age. Start a savings account for future car repairs, and stick $$ in there with every paycheck. Doesn't matter what kind of car you have, you will need repairs. It's tremendous peace of mind to have money in the bank for future issues. Good Luck!
