We're about to embark on our first major road trip in our Saab. We're planning on about 1,400 miles at Christmas and were wondering what spares to pack. One thing for sure is a DIC. I just bought one, should be here Friday. I'm aware that it has to be stored upright. I'm also guessing vacuum hose (5/32 ID) as I haven't done them yet. What about relays? Is there any specific one that's problematic or hard to find?
The car is an '04 9-5 Aero Kombi with 104k on the clock. It's been well maintained and has always had synthetic oil. I did the CPS (Bosch OEM) about two months ago and replaced the cracked PVC line in front of the throttle body about two weeks ago. It's had all the recommended maintenance done at 30k intervals. I've also converted the trans to AmsOil ATF. I'll swap out the stock 17" wheels for 16" alloys with Altimax snows before heading out.
