We have all heard of doing an engine oil change after only a thousand miles or so just to get theinitial wear-in contaminants out of the system. This proactice is good for all the other lubricants too.

Owners have reported strange shifting behavior of their 5-speed automatics beginning around 35K miles. Behavior which stops after doing a drain and refill cycle with fresh T-IV. Once changed out the transmisisons appear good for the recommended 60K mile interval service. I remembered these comments and bought the correct ATF fluid.

Anders' comments regarding early changeout of brake fluid are the same thing, but something I had not considered until now.
