load rating again... 91 vs 94 Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Tue, 10 Apr 2012 05:56:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I know this is a bit of an FAQ, but... are most of you running tires with a 91 load rating? the 17" spec is 94W and the 16" spec is 93V, which suggests that 91 is on the low side... unfortunately many many tires recommended on this bb + especially the ones I'm interested in are only available in the 91 load rating (except the Nokian V and Z which would be perfect if they were not unobtanium!)... non-nokian options that appeal the most at this point are Conti DW and Michelin Pilot Sport AS+...
(interestingly, I found a tire comparison/survey chart that seems to rate these favourably, and in general tends to match my biases whether or not the methodology is any good, see link: 4 charts for different tire types as jpegs... the photo below is just 1 of the 4 categories...)
we tend to load the car pretty heavily, so I'd like to get the load rating right unless it really does not matter... some places might not even install 91's, right? any thoughts?
