I know many here consider Consumer Reports as spawned from Hell, but if anyone has better repair history info, I'd love to see it.
Per CR, transmissions are the most reliable part of the 2002-2007 (no data for '08 on) 9-5.
In those 6 years, "Transmission - Major" has 1 avg, 2 better than, 2 much better than. "Transmission - Minor" has 1 avg, 2 better, 2 much better, and the 2002 does show worse (not much worse) than average. Even now, with 2002's just experiencing some Minor work (is that just a flush/fill? certainly not replacement), sounds like a pretty robust part of the car to me.
I'm not saying nobody has 5-spd auto problems, but...
