5sp tranny problems well documented on this site. Here's a couple of examples:

The 5 speed AW transmission is not as sturdy as the 4 speed one which is evident if you also follow the Volvo boards where the exact same problems (and fix) is mentioned together with more failures than on the 4 speed.
With planting even more sensitive electronics in an harsh environment, more problems has showed up than on the simplier 4 speed. It is also evident with the many different software updates for this and that on both Saab's and Volvo's.
Minor improvements has been noticed changing the fluid and using the proper fluid.
