9-5 Towing Capacity Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Mon, 18 Feb 2013 16:24:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I know that Norm9-5 has done this but wonder if many others have.
I may be buying a MGA and will need to tow it approximately 110 miles back to my home. If I tow it with my 9-5 I will need to first install a hitch, then rent a dolly. I *assume* I will need to remove the driveshaft of the MGA to tow it on the dolly. Is this correct?
Other options are available; ranging from renting a small U-Haul truck with a flat trailer, having a former co-worker/boss transport the car for me on his truck/trailer rig, to buying a used ramp truck (an inexpensive one in good condition is currently listed locally) and go into the Rod & Classic rescue transport business on the side to justify the truck purchase.
What is the general collective wisdom? Although I think I already know the answer.
