Those went by the wayside way back in the C900 days, if not by 1981 with the new hubs, shortly thereafter.
Since then, Saab has used a one-time-use-only nut for the hubs. The early (900/9000) nuts are made with a thin(ner) threaded section on the outer end of the nut (away from the hub) that is formed into a triangular section when manufactured. Threading this on to the CV or axle re-forms this to a more-or-less round section, but the elasticity of the steel keeps the nut from loosening. Once removed, they will no longer hold as well as they did originally, and the factory service manuals state they should be replaced with new.
The photo at Eeuro shows a nut with four thinner sections past the hex on the nut (almost like a castellated nut for a cotter pin), but I imagine the same principle applies with those as the ones for the 900/9000.
I've never attempted to re-use those nuts. For the $5-10 they cost, it is cheap peace of mind that I know the nut isn't going to be backing off. And if I'm paying someone several hundred dollars to do the job, they should be replacing that nut, not re-using an old one.
