I am an old School Saab Turbo guy and years ago there was always a stress upon warm up and especially cool down, allowing time to moderate the temp at the turbine bearing.
I bought my first 9-5 a couple of months ago and love it and I put 250k mi on a 1986 900T many years ago.
Warm up is very briefly covered in the owners manual but COOL DOWN didn't seem to be.
I know cool down is for some inconvenient, but my understanding is that is has the greatest impact upon long term life and performance of the turbo charger. I have assumed the marketing people put the hush on it, but, when you park and before you shut off the ignition I always allow the engine to idle for 15-30 seconds, depending on how I was just driving it.
This allows the turbine shaft to coast down in RPM's and it allows oil and coolant to circulate and ensure that the turbine bearing is at a reasonable temperature.
Shut off the engine too quickly and coking will occur as the oil supply stops but the turbine bearing is still hot, causing the oil to bake.
My first oil cooled only turbo charger cleared 190k before its' seals began to leak.
Back to your subject, I bet you are placing money well spent through maintenance.
