The MacKay hose kit is often less expensive than a new valve. Previously this hose kit had a Saab P/N and was sold by some Dealerships. eEuro may now be the only source for this kit. Plumbing Tees have been used in a pinch by some owners to temporarily replace a failed valve, and this valve was also used in Cadillac Cateras so you may find it at local parts stores.
I know a couple posters here have disabled their valves and not had a problem, but this valve strokes so seldom (only when maximum cooling is requested) that I wonder if their technique is the solution or if they have just had good luck with their valves.
