'02 9.3t automatic. See my previous post about code P0785 and limp mode recurring problem. Saab tech replaced indicated SLS solenoid with used unit (no new ones available) to no avail. Tech recommended new transmission as most reliable fix (will be driving it from Georgia to CA in a couple months). I purchased car from first owner in '04 with 39k (no tranny service recorded during first two years)on clock and began tranny fluid drain/fills every 10k with Type IV Toyota fluid. Both Saab shops I spoke with said this first edition of the 5 speed A-W tranny is more prone to problems but new unit is improved version. Hope so! Other than this car has been great except for recent need for new radiator, second water pump and rear bushings. My other '02 2.3t with 111k has yet to have any tranny issues but I am exclusive driver of that one while the one with problem tranny driven a lot by two teenagers and wife. No national Saab warranty on new tranny, or any other parts or labor it seems, even if work performed at "official Saab service center". Hope my decision to get new tranny proves wise.
