I suppose I've been reading something wrong, or I'm recalling a conversation that was somewhat different.
But I went over the diagrams last night (not for the faint hearted!) and I agree that any jumpering of wires at the 666 relay cannot cause current to flow via the stalk switch.
I will go on record as preferring Stephen Goldberger's method, when and if I ever own a 9-5 with HIDs again (and I hope I do!).
