Even the brand new one I put in my first 9-5 had that play. I "reverse-engineered" the one I took out and took a bunch of pictures. See my member gallery.
That piece that wiggles up and down just rests on top of the "hydraulic" cushion.
Edit: Oh and that was five years ago (holy crap time flies). But I'm noticing I posted a before and an after picture to compare the height of the old vs. new mounts.
