For the rear suspension, where most of the problems are, the consensus is to replace the trailing arm forward bushing (OEM/rubber, or poly as you prefer), and the upper and lower cross-stay bushings- the outer ones only, followed by adjusting the ride height using spacers and your original springs. Follow this up with an alignment- you will need to find someone that can set the rear toe, it is adjustable but if you are told otherwise- go somewhere else. Consider replacing the 2 rubber bits inside the shock assemble while you have it apart. I measured a quarter-inch difference between new and old when I replaced mine, but I don't know how much of a difference that would make after compressing everything back together. #36 and #41 on the E-euro diagram.
If you want to tackle this yourself there's no reason that you couldn't do it in bits and pieces. I chose to have my indy do all the rear work due to time constraints, but then I went back a year later DIY swapped out my tired base shocks/springs with a used Aero suspension and replaced anything made of rubber while I had the shock assembly apart. I re-used the same spring spacers to maintain the new Aero ride height specification.
Working on the front, you need to replace anything that's worn, which could be everything or nothing. Almost all of my noise went away when I replaced the sway bar endlinks, and the rest went away when the front-subframe rear bushings were replaced. I did not notice any performance differences. I also replaced my control arm rear bushings, but probably didn't have to. When I swapped in the Aero suspension I replaced the strut mounts and bearings.
