The baffle was a knee jerk reaction solution to complaints from people buying a $40000.00 car that the gasoline was sloshing back and forth at half tank.

I think it was installed from factory in around 03-04 and some earlier models were retrofitted with it when the owner complained about the noise.

I have not seen one not broken of the ones I have had the fuel pump out of the tank.
I remove all of them and no one complains about the noise anymore on a $5000.00-10000.00 car.
