I have owned a 2006 9-5 Aero manual since 2009 and recently doubled down with the purchase of a very clean 2008 Aero manual with 52,000 miles on it. The car came with new summer tires, a third key and good snows mounted on 16 inch SAAB BBS alloy wheels for $12,900.
The 2008 came with the HID lamps/navigation/backup warning/folding mirror package, and I prefer the manual GM radio controls of the 2006 Aero to the hard to see touch screen radio on the nav package which reminds me of an old IBM green CRT display. Oddly, the navigation maps display better than the radio controls. And I may be in the minority but I like the newer front end look of the 2006 and later, but prefer the pre-2006 tail lamps.
The 2006 is more rewarding to drive as it seems to accelerate faster, I need to check if it is geared lower or mapped more aggressively, the 2008 seems to be more reserved in its response to the deep throttle inputs.
It is a great car, get it.
