I thought the original poster, Jim, wanted to know why he had a check engine light. I'll give you a pass on knowing his car appears to operate normally. My most recent experience with a check engine light and vehicle that appeared to operate normally (2005 9-5) in all aspects required not only the knowledge of the code, but the location of the turbo bypass valve.

Perhaps I missed your explanation of the cause of his check engine light. Please don't take umbrage at my reply. I've enjoyed your posts over the years and mean no offense.
