You must, must, MUST properly maintain the timing belt on the V6. This means replacement of the timing belt at 60k intervals, along with all the tensioner bits and belt pulleys. And every second timing belt, change the water pump, just because you're already there, and you really don't want to take it all apart again.
If it does not have maintenance record, particularly for replacing the timing belt and pulleys, then plan to do that immediately upon purchase (and use it as a negotiation with the seller). Plan for a cost for a shop to do it between $1,000 and $1,500, depending on your area, and how well you know your mechanic.
If you do that right away, though, and don't plan to put lots of miles on it (under 10k per year), the TB will last you 5-6 years or more.
I love the V6 for what it is - a smooth, powerful highway cruiser. If you plan to use it primarily around town for errands, your fuel mileage will suffer dramatically. The V6 is capable of 27-30 MPG on the highway, but in town you're looking at 15-18, sometimes less.
