Car has just over 100 K on it and always acted up right after 60,000 miles at start up with low fuel in the morning and when it's cold. It would crank a little bit before firing off when it was a full tank started right up,now with the new pump starts up smooth the first shot just feels like it did when it was new. Fun job just make sure it's low on fuel so you don't spill few all over the rug in the backseat I do have a little cleaning to do I think my fuel gauge wasn't reading correctly it's Said quarter tank it look more like a half a tank after I took the pump out , I sanded the contacts on the fuel gauge indicator and now it's reading perfectly so probably was worn out or dirty contacts I used special lubricant for Ford and Chevrolet for interior gas tank usage so it won't wear out with fuel but helps electrical contact( they also make the lubricant that lines the inner parts of brake lines) ,just a few drops of The lubricant is all you need on The contacts .the container that I bought was about a quarter of a cup from a special lubrication factory it was about $280 for the lubricant I will be using in other places so I don't feel too bad wasn't necessary. But the job itself was easy and I would recommend anybody who needs replaced fuel filter to do it themselves save the big bucks anyway I have photos if anyone wants to try this themselves I could possibly send them out to you to give you hand.
