Another mushy brake problem Posted by Markatl [Email] (#1833) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Markatl) on Mon, 3 Feb 2014 10:05:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I changed out my oem brake pads to Akebono-819's- a few weeks back and ended with mushy brakes(yes, clips are on correctly). When I initially drove to go brake them in I noticed the mushiness, but proceeded anyhow and twice the peddle went to the floor. I drove a a week or so till I could get back to them.
I then decided to go ahead and change out the rotors thinking the pads weren't sitting right (the old rotors were smooth but there had ridges on both the top and bottom). I went with new ones instead of resurfacing and stil had mushy brakes. What could be the problem? Read where one person said it was the Akebono pads that made them mushy and changed them and they were fine. Or should I start with bleeding?
any help would be great.
thanks.
Mark
