First, there is an adjustment nut / bolt near the firewall to see if it is a problem with the linkage adjustment. Search the board for exact procedure to adjust. Have had to do this in the past.
Second, I have a manual on an '01 aero that sometimes will not go into reverse unless the care is moved in reverse very very slightly. Other posts have said that there is some sort on internal clip that let's go. Was going to replace trans, but have dealt with never parking downhill ;-)
