I've replaced the HID headlight bulbs on both sides in my 03 9-5 aero, and I found it almost as easy as replacing halogen bulbs. Just take your time and take the same precautions as halogen bulbs, eg. don't touch the glass (wipe off with alcohol if you do), remove and insert bulb carefully so you don't break the glass, etc. Make sure the new bulb is seated securely and squarely on the back of the assembly housing before you clip it into place. There's a good amount of space behind the driver's headlight assembly so you shouldn't have to remove anything. But on the pass side, unless you have really small hands, you might have to remove/reposition the intake hose.
