For me, it is quicker to pull the hose package out with valve attached than it is to detach the valve from hoses and install a new valve down there.
The key to remove hoses quickly is to get down with a razor blade and carefully cut off the hoses at heater core pipes and then disconnect the other end from pipe and cylinder head and snake the whole nest out.
After that it is plenty of room to remove the two lower hose clamps and split open the rubber ends so that you can peel them off the heater pipes.
A little bit of silicone lube on the in and outside of new hoses and they slide right on and you can position the hose clamps easily.
Unfortunately, the V6 engine does not have an easy solution to remove the bypass valve and you have to build a kit out of different hoses. But at least, it is easier to get to the valve on the V6.
