Hi.
I have 2004 9-5. Original owner. Past few years it seemed like the car would get slightly rough during idle, then smooth again, then rougher again while the vehicle was stopped. Replaced DIC a while back due to check engine lights, and those have remained clear.
The other day the car almost seemed to die at a red light. I am not sure what a misfire sounds or feels like but maybe that was what it was. It seemed to pause for a second then kept running. A little scary. Later that same day it died at a red light. Started back up fine and drove home. Still running ok 3 days later. Usual slightly rough idle remains. No codes were thrown I checked with scanner.
I do not know where to start. How to diagnose? CPS, TB, Idle Air Intake, Fuel filter, other problems? Can anyone help where to begin and what may be ruled out based on this only happening during stopped idle? Too bad no codes given. If step-by-step diagnosis available please recommend. Even if never dies again fixing rougher idle would be good. Thank you.
