On our 2004 Aero the throttle body failure began with slight/momentary loss of rpms at high speed and that lasted several months. Then when driving home one day and slowing at a stop light the limp-home mode triggered on the throttle body. Car died and when restarted required throttle input to keep idle up. Reset the TB and cleaned it and it was OK for about another month then limp-home again. As I recall I got a code with the limp-home. You may want to search here for other TB symptoms. The TB is an expensive item to replace. The CPS is cheap and from what I read could also be the cause. If the car runs ok at high speed your fuel filter may be ok but wouldn't hurt to change if original. Good luck.
