Turbo and Oil pressure switch leaking oil - thoughts? Posted by Navid [Email] (#2069) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Navid) on Mon, 30 Jun 2014 08:41:19 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi my Saab mechanic said the oil pressure switch is leaking and the turbo as well. He put the car on a lift and then looked at the engine from the top as well. He didn't wash it down or anything. A few questions
1) Is it possible that the oil pressure switch leak is making the turbo look like it is leaking?
2) Is it worth replacing the turbo - he quoted $600 all in w/ parts. Can I do something else to reduce this leak and get by for a while?
3) Should I do any other preventative work while the turbo is being replaced?
I have a '03 Linear 157K miles. I have done some recent work (struts/tires/fuel pump/starter) so don't want to replace the car.
