I incorporated the following improvements to Phil's excellent procedure when installing a Glowshift 7-Color oil pressure gauge on my 1999 9-5 SE:
1) Routed the green signal wire through the driver's side firewall, via the one of the wire harness bundle pass-throughs. (See the "boost gauge install" write-up on Platonoff's site for the procedure.)
http://photo.platonoff.com/Auto/20040417.Saab_9-5_boost_gauge_install/
2) For the connection to fuse socket #34 (red/switched power), I plugged in an ATO type "Add-A-Circuit" fuse extender, placed the stock 30A fuse in slot 1, and installed a 5A fuse to protect the gauge in slot 2. For the connection to fuse socket 25 (yellow/constant power), I mounted the fuse blade on the lower leg. The WIS specifies that the top leg supplies power; I wanted the tap to be taken downstream of the car's stock 30A fuse. I will replace the fuse blade with another fuse extender at a later date.
3) Enabled the Glowshift gauge's dimmer function by soldering the orange wire to pin 11 of the the 16-pin connector (Saab P/N 4114419) that mates with the dash-mounted Lights Switch. This pin is on the end of the BU/YE wire that goes to the dipped beam relay and DICE. Specifically, I released the pin from the connector by using two dental picks to relax the pin's restraining barbs, then soldered the wire to the pin ferrule. It was a lot of work getting that pin loosened without the right tool on hand! When the switch is in position #2 (dipped beams ON), this applies +12V to the gauge's dimmer circuit. The amount of dimming thus realized (factory fixed at 30%) is not appreciable; it seems to be of marginal benefit.
