Here's the math... Posted by ChuckD [Email] (#2127) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ChuckD) on Tue, 28 Oct 2014 15:32:11 In Reply to: More..., bill h., Tue, 28 Oct 2014 05:40:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
"tire slap"?!?
...Leased this car brand new, drove it off the floor with 7 miles on the odometer. The only mistake or regret was leasing it. Should've bought it.
The "math" is comparing what I now put into it per year (including insurance) versus the yearly cost of a new car, plus the unknown factor of whether it will fill in for what I get out of this. It'd have to be an A6 or something, I guess. I know Saabs, especially this one and I don't need a new car all the time. It was a thrill once, but I'm past that.
I still love this car! Did I mention the clutch has never been serviced? Even when I once pressed an Indy to do...something...at around 120K thinking it must need ...something, he talked me out of it. There was nothing to do, it's fine. And it still is (and I drive it --with authority). Kinda proud of that.
So that argument for this project has gotten through the Finance Committee. Now if I could just get a performance exhaust through too. Damn that lifetime warranty.
I'm going with Powerflex and Moog as much as possible and FSB struts. Tires are showing scars of the sloppiness but it's time to drag out the snows from the basement anyway. New shoes in the springtime.
Thanks much for the feedback!
