I don't remember seeing this information that the CBV is only activated when the ACC temp is set to LO. I guess I should install the bypass fitting (or make my own) when the next CBV fails.
I can probably count on one hand the number of times I've taken it down to LO over the past 12.5 years, yet I've still had CBV's fail.

Jef022, first I've never had one fail that first didn't begin with slight leak. I certainly could be missed, but I've always had warning. Your's is the first I remember hearing about that had the plastic body completely fail. Even IF a metal body has some merit, how are you going to produce this without it costing several hundred $'s?
