Is a Daytime Running Light cutoff switch possible?

On my Canadian 2001 9-5, DRLs are standard. One may defeat them by pulling fuse 35.
I like the idea of them in the day but wish I could turn them off under some circumstances at night--for instance, when parking so that they don't light up the neighbor's entire residence nearby.
Has anyone here ever fashioned a cutoff switch? I can imagine seating one (maybe using the same kind as the foglight switch) in a spare, adjacent switch location, running the leads to the #35 spot and putting the fuse inline.
Pros? Cons? Thanks for any ideas.
