So, I am a bit confused. Saab wanted to boast that the Aero had 255hp HOT. They even went as far as to announce that there is a 5 second extra boost on the manual tranny. If their goal was to PUT IT OUT THERE what the capability of the car was and use that as a selling point, why did Saab engineers stop at 255 hp ? I mean if the tuning companies can easily get 50 plus hp by altering software on a lap top, why didnt Saab do the same ? I am wondering why if its sooooooo easy, then why put the limit at 255? And, if the car was built to handle more HP as the tuners would imply, and Saab didnt do it, why did SAAB spend the extra money into materials and R & D only to not utilize the extra potential? Its not like the Aero was billed as a daily tour car. We all know it wasnt. I just am not getting it. I feel like A. The car isnt meant to have more HP by means of only software change, or B. Tuners are waaaaaaaay smarter than the SAAB Electrical/Machanical engineers.
